Evening Quality Supervisor

The Evening Quality Supervisor is a full-time position within Circle and it is a critical position to help the Company achieve its mission. 

Key Accountability: ensuring that the internal policies and procedures are complied with to ensure that the company’s finished products are produced to world-class standard of food safety and quality.

The position’s Responsibilities are as follows:

● Lead the Production Quality Team: at least 50% of your time will be spent leading the company’s production quality team, which has 3 quality technician per production shift. You will supervise the quality technicians, including time sheet management, setting weekly schedules, vacation coverage, performance management, and hiring/firing decisions.

● Quality Record Management: at least 25% of your time will be spent to ensure that quality records are completed by quality and production team members by conducting daily reviews of all paperwork, signing off on the paperwork, compiling production folders, and then handing off the final folders to the Technical Control Manager. You will serve on the Quality Record Committee to ensure that new quality records are set up properly and that any changes/edits are implemented throughout the production team. You will also serve on the company’s SQF program team.

The remaining 25% of your time will be spent across the following areas:

o Training: you will conduct periodic quality trainings across the Production team to ensure that the entire department is aware of key information and that they understand the importance of the company’s quality system. You will maintain an annual training calendar for the company.

o Quality Holds: you will own the company’s QA hold process, including hold, release decision, corrective actions, and maintaining the QA hold log.

o Lab Oversight: you will have oversight of the company’s internal lab.

o Equipment Calibration: you will oversee the company’s calibration program to ensure that all key equipment is calibrated on a regular schedule and documented per SOPs.

o SOP Management: you will own the production quality standard operating procedures and keep them up to date.

The experiences that a qualified candidate will have are:

Experience as a Quality Technician in a food/beverage manufacturing company. Preferred: experience leading a quality team in a food/beverage manufacturing company.

Either PCQI-certified or SQF-certified or a commitment to achieving both certifications within 1 year of starting in the position.

Experience in conducting internal audits and implementing corrective measures.

Experience in training others.

Position Details:

Location: Company Headquarters (1050 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46202).

Salaried Non-Exempt position. Eligible for employee & management bonus program.

Monday to Friday evenings in-person. You will bridge the leadership bridge across shifts, so your weekly & daily schedule will need to fluctuate slightly to ensure adequate overlap & face-time with all of your direct reports.

You will be available for escalation phone calls from your direct reports should quality issues arise.

You will provide vacation and out-of-office coverage for your direct reports, meaning you must have flexibility to cover for various shifts on an as-needed basis.
